What to Expect From Your First Aesthetic Consultation

    4 min read

Walking into an aesthetic clinic for the first time can feel daunting — especially if you're not entirely sure what you want. That's completely normal. Here's what happens during a consultation at Glow Up Clinic, so you know exactly what to expect.

    Before Your Appointment

There's no special preparation required. Come as you are — with or without makeup. If it helps, jot down any questions or concerns you'd like to discuss. You might also find it useful to save reference photos, though these aren't necessary.

You'll be asked to complete a brief medical history form before your consultation begins. This helps us understand your health background and ensure any treatment we discuss is safe and suitable for you.

    During the Consultation

Your consultation is a two-way conversation. We'll start by asking about your concerns — what you've noticed, what bothers you, and what you're hoping to achieve. There's no right or wrong answer here. Some people come with very specific goals; others simply know something feels "different" and want guidance.

Next, we'll conduct a physical assessment of the relevant area — whether that's your skin, facial structure, or expression patterns. This helps us understand the underlying cause of your concerns and identify the most appropriate approach.

We'll then explain your options clearly, including:

    • What the treatment involves and how it works
    • Expected results, timeline, and longevity
    • Potential risks, side effects, and limitations
    • Alternative approaches, including the option of no treatment
    • Costs and any follow-up appointments needed

    There's No Pressure to Proceed

This is important: a consultation does not commit you to treatment. We encourage people to take time to think, ask questions, and come back if and when they're ready. We never use high-pressure sales tactics, time-limited offers, or urgency-based language.

If we don't think a treatment is suitable for you, we'll tell you honestly. And if doing nothing is the best option, we'll recommend that too.

    After Your Consultation

If you decide to proceed, we'll schedule your treatment at a time that works for you. If you'd like more time to consider, that's absolutely fine — your treatment plan will be documented and ready whenever you are. Some people return weeks or even months later. There's no expiry on our recommendations.
